Privacy notice

How I collect, use and look after your personal information.

Who I am

Rebecca Bromfield Counselling is my private counselling practice, based at Enterprise House, Boathouse Meadow Business Park, Cherry Orchard Lane, Salisbury SP2 7LD. I am a BACP Registered Member (registration number 422072) and the data controller for the personal information described here. I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

If you have any questions about this notice or your information, please contact me on 07793 722151 or at [email protected].

What information I collect

This website has no forms, and doesn’t use analytics or tracking cookies.

How and why I use it

The law allows me to use your information because it is needed to provide the service you have asked for (a contract), because I have a legitimate interest in running my practice, or because I have a legal obligation. Information about your health is handled with extra care, and only for providing counselling, with your consent or as the law allows for health and care services.

Who I share it with

I never sell your information. I only share it where needed to run my practice:

Counselling is confidential. I would only share information without your agreement in rare cases, such as if I believed you or someone else was at serious risk of harm, or if the law required it. Wherever possible, I would talk to you first.

Cookies and Google services

This website doesn’t set any cookies of its own. The map on the contact section is provided by Google Maps and only loads if you choose to show it. Google may then set cookies, as described in Google’s privacy policy. The website’s fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your device’s IP address is sent to Google when you visit. No cookies are set by this.

How long I keep it

I keep your information only for as long as I need it. Enquiries that don’t lead to sessions are deleted once they are no longer needed. Clinical notes are kept for 7 years after our final session or, if you were under 18 when therapy took place, until you turn 25. This follows guidance from the BACP and my insurer. After that, they are securely deleted.

Keeping it safe

Your information is stored securely, on password-protected devices and accounts, and any paper notes are kept locked away.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information I hold about you, and to ask me to correct it, delete it, or limit how I use it. You can also object to how I use it, and withdraw your consent at any time where I rely on it. Just get in touch using the details above, and I will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, please talk to me first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
